In response to the letter from Chris Rowland (Letters, March 25) criticising the Liberal Democrats, I would like to ask him where he was while we were fighting to save Millbrook library from closure.
He described himself as the Conservative candidate for Millbrook ward, but what has he done to prevent the library from being closed? Perhaps he was hindered by the fact that it was his party, led by their prospective parliamentary candidate for Southampton Test, who took the decision to shut the doors on what is a vital community facility.
In fact he avoided the subject of Millbrook library completely and chose to talk about fluoride instead. While we are on that subject perhaps he might like to know that only the Lib Dems had two MPs and two prospective parliamentary candidates at the anti-fluoride protest in London when the petition was handed in.
Steve Plumridge, Prospective Liberal Democrat candidate for Millbrook.
