It would appear that the Tories in Government have reneged on their election promises with regard to water fluoridation. In keeping with the local Tory position on this matter, they can't seem to decide what side of the argument they support; to allow an unelected body to decide what we have in our water, or the people of Southampton who have already voiced their overwhelming disdain of the scheme.
Southampton Liberal Democrats will continue fighting against the introduction of fluoride into our water supplies.
Local campaigner Simon Stokes, who has campaigned against the scheme, says 'It's hard to believe that the Tories still won't take the views of the people of Southampton seriously.
'Southampton Liberal Democrats are the only one of the 'big three' parties that has, from day one, supported the overwhelming local opinion that we don't want this.'
