Southampton Council Survey launched on exercise habits7.18.45pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 21st Oct 2005
Southampton City Council Leisure Centres have started a new internet scheme to understand Southampton's motivations and preferences in their exercise habits. The survey aims to discover where people prefer to exercise, if they exercise at all and if so, what they like about it. Conor Swift, General Manager at The Quays Eddie Read Swimming & Diving Complex said: "We are interested in finding out from the residents of Southampton what they feel about the leisure facilities available in the city and how they like to use their leisure time". "It will be particularly interesting to see the information we gain back from people who don't exercise, and why they do not use the leisure facilities available. We would also like to know what motivates people to exercise and how we can help make the residents of Southampton fitter & healthier". Using the results from the investigation the leisure department of Southampton City Council will be able to look at the services they currently provide both indoor and outdoor with more of an idea of what the customer wants. The results will also give feedback from the customers who already use Southampton leisure centres and offer promotions to the public depending on their interests. Related Link:
