BREXIT: Last chance to support final say

June 12, 2018 3:10 PM

Liberal Democrat Brexit Spokesperson Tom Brake has called on MPs to add their signatures to the EU Withdrawal Bill Amendment 19a to give people the final say on the Brexit deal.

Mr Brake warned that "history is watching" and encouraged MPs to use this "last chance" to add their names in the final 24 hours before the deadline on Tuesday 12th June.

As well as Liberal Democrat MPs, a number of Labour and Plaid MPs and Caroline Lucas (Green) are supporting the amendment.

Liberal Democrat Brexit Spokesperson Tom Brake said

"Now is the time for MPs who have campaigned for the people to have the final say to put their money where their mouth is and add their support to this cross-party amendment.

"Brexit is not living up to what the Leave campaign promised. It is threatening jobs, the economy and Britain's place in the world.

"That is why it is so important that the people have the final say on the deal, and an option to remain in the EU. MPs have their chance to make this a reality by backing amendment 19a."

A list of MPs who are supporting amendment 19 (a) so far is below. Others have indicated their support, should the amendment be pressed to a vote.
