Tories cobbling together NHS plan

June 22, 2018 2:50 PM

Judith JollyResponding to Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond's Mansion House speech in which he acknowledges the need to raise taxes to fund the NHS, Liberal Democrat Health Spokesperson Baroness Judith Jolly said:

"After finally admitting that the NHS needs investment, it is clear the Tories have no clue where this money is coming from, where is it going or how it will be spent.

"The Tories are cobbling together a plan for the NHS as they go. The Liberal Democrats are the only party with a concrete plan for funding the NHS and social care. A penny on the pound of income tax would provide an instant cash injection that would alleviate the acute crisis gripping our health and social care services."
