Adrian Ford

Born in Paignton in Devon, Adrian moved to the city 25 years ago, and lives in the Southampton Test Parliamentary constituency. For the last 17 years he has owned and managed his own business located in the city. Adrian lives with his family just off the inner avenue in the heart of the city.

Adrian says "I really enjoy living in Southampton with access to all of the city's wonderful parks and the common as well as being in easy reach of the New Forest and London.

Although I think Southampton is a great place to live I also believe that it needs some improvement, especially to encourage more tourism. The city has so much that remains unheralded; some of the best kept medieval walls in Britain, one of the largest cruise ports in the world, and the world centre for maritime research, all of which need to be enhanced and put on the global map.

Nationally I believe that good quality public services are essential in order to provide everyone with a decent standard of living, cheaper and more frequent trains and buses, investing in the health service to make it fit for the 21st century and beyond, more support of schools, colleges and universities to maintain and further Britain's reputation for academic excellence world wide, and encouraging development of all forms of renewable energy, working towards a future where all of our country's energy needs are met by green renewable energy. "
