City Council Candidate

Philip Mackin

Philip Mackin

Phillip has lived in Southampton since 2010, and works across the country as a Business Analyst, helping companies explore new technologies.

Philip says: "I joined the Liberal Democrats in 2015 after the end of the coalition government. That's when I realised that I needed to join up and get more involved - in a country overrun by angry populism, our party of practical and sensible people is needed more than ever.

"I believe that politics is at its best when it brings people together: that's why as well as campaigning on local issues, I'm always on the lookout for community events that need time and support. Last year I was a volunteer at the CityRide and Southampton Pride events - and I have already signed up for these and more in 2018."
