Parking and Safety Survey Now Live!

Southampton City Council has just launched a new survey to gather residents’ views on proposed changes to Winchester Road (between Hill Lane and Bassett Avenue) aimed at improving safety for cyclists, pedestrians, and drivers.
The plan includes upgrading the existing cycle lane to a segregated cycle lane, adding physical barriers (like kerbs) to stop cars from entering the cycle space. Right now, parts of the cycle lane are faded and can be parked on, reducing safety for cyclists.
Why This Matters:
In previous consultations, response rates have been disappointingly low—this makes it even more important for you to have your say now. Decisions are often made based on the feedback received, so if residents don’t respond, your voice won’t be heard.
How to Get Involved:
Complete the online survey here: transport.southampton.gov.uk/winchesterroad
You’ll need your survey number (found at the top of the letter you’ll receive) to submit your response.
Deadline: 23rd February 2025.
Important: Only one response per property will be counted, with the latest submission being considered if there are duplicates.
